The last two weeks have been an incredible incline in conversations around AI. Two weeks ago, we were preparing for the Glazing Summit, thinking about how to bring AI further into the industry. Were we doing it the right way? Was there anything we should be doing differently? As it turns out, the summit brought those answers in the best possible way.
AI in every talk
Every speaker had AI woven into their talk. It wasn’t an afterthought anymore; it was front and centre. The Bank of England speaker, Glyn addressed it directly, speaking matter-of-factly about the need for all of us to adopt AI now rather than trying to catch up later when the train has already left the station. Their insights hit home and reinforced what we have been saying for months, the time for thinking about it has passed. The time for action is now.
On stage, the conversation flowed fast and naturally from Elton, even if he took an unconventional route to the stage. Elton shared the space with Alex and Russell, and they could have gone on for much longer. The questions that came in were real and relevant, not abstract or hypothetical. People wanted to know about practical use, how to start small, and what kind of return they could expect. It showed how quickly the glazing industry is evolving in its understanding of AI.
The positive environmental impact of AI
One particularly interesting topic was the energy impact of AI, the resources needed to keep the servers cool and process the vast number of prompts being generated every day. Elton, ever the investigator, went into full Sherlock Holmes mode after the event, researching what is really happening behind the scenes. His findings and latest press roundup are eye opening and worth a read if you are curious about the hidden cost of digital progress.
For me, the Glazing Summit was about more than just listening to experts, it was about connection. We left with solid contacts and genuine conversations about businesses wanting to adopt AI, and quickly. What stood out was the shift in tone. These were not speculative discussions anymore. People were ready to get started, and they wanted to use thinkivity to guide them. That is when we are at our best, helping businesses find confidence in technology and make it work for them.
Automation is not about replacing people
The discussions we had covered everything from improving internal efficiency and automating workflows to creative ways AI can enhance customer experiences. Many businesses are realising that automation is not about replacing people, it is about freeing them to focus on the things that matter most, building relationships, solving problems, and driving innovation.
Some of the most exciting conversations came from those thinking outside the box. They wanted to take AI further, to explore how it could help them innovate, expand, and think differently. That is what fuels us at thinkivity and GlazePro AI, watching ideas evolve from curiosity to confidence.
We (the glazing sector) are embracing AI
It has now been more than seven months since I became part of the team championing AI adoption across the glazing industry, and I can honestly say this has been one of the most exciting chapters yet. The industry is not just aware of AI; it is embracing it. What has been labelled for years as slow to adapt is now proving the opposite. The pace of adoption I have seen is nothing short of remarkable.
AI is not just a passing trend; it is becoming part of the DNA of modern glazing businesses. The benefits are tangible, better efficiency, improved communication, smarter decision making, and stronger customer engagement. The tools we use are evolving daily, and what once took hours can now take minutes. That shift is not just technological, it is cultural. It is a mindset of asking how we can make this work for us rather than should we try it.
Advancing the cause – On A Mission!
I am proud to be part of a team that is helping lead that change. We are not just showing people what AI can do, we are helping them find their own voice with it. Every training session, every conversation, and every breakthrough moment adds to the momentum.
The Glazing Summit proved something we have always believed at thinkivity. AI does not belong in a distant future. It is here, right now, ready to make a difference. The glazing industry is not waiting anymore, it is acting. And I could not be prouder to be on that journey, helping shape what comes next.
